Kitchen and Bath Industry Poised to Flourish in 2016
Each year, Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) is held in conjunction with the National Kitchen & Bath Association. For purpose of featuring most recent trends, technologies & product announcements in the industry. The annual conference has showcased kitchen and bath industry for more than 50 years now. And continues to attract a broad audience of commercial and consumer interests. This year’s show was held in Las Vegas. NV from January 19th to 21st, and highlighted sustainability and technology in the design of kitchen and bath products.
As always, awards were handed out in several categories for best new products and designs. And People’s Choice favorites were recognized as well. As a forum for recognizing outstanding achievement and innovation in the industry. The KBIS show is second to none, but that is not the only purpose of the gathering each year. It also strives to inform and educate attendees about what’s happening in the general field. And with specific areas of interest to participants.
Industry Highlights & Insights from KBIS 2016
The KBIS enjoyed a 10% increase in attendance. And hosted builders, dealers, designers, suppliers, and 531 exhibitors from throughout the breadth of the kitchen and bath industry. This is seen as a very positive sign and a reflection of the growth of the industry as a whole.
Another very positive indication of the health of the industry was the return of some major individual bath and kitchen companies. Following absences of several years. The interest demonstrated by the attendance numbers and the renewed attention of influential companies are both indications that the coming year could be a banner one for kitchen and bath.
The winner of this year’s People’s Choice Award for Most Innovative Showroom was prepared by Jennie Mosley of Simmer & Soak of Saint Simon’s Island, GA. This was the first year that the public was allowed to vote for their favorite showroom. And the sparkling stone full bath creation was the one which captured the popular imagination.
Countertops were everywhere in evidence. As a variety of choices were featured in exhibits and special displays since this is an area where some interesting things are being accomplished via technology. Especially trending are green technologies, where recycled materials are used to produce high-quality countertop sheets.
