- Dishwashing Liquid – PH neutral cleaner.

- Hydrogen Peroxide – natural whitener and brightener, easily breaks dirt from almost any surface. Can be used for disinfecting in the kitchen or bathroom.
- Baking Soda – natural abrasive.
- Essential Oil -They have different properties, for example, they can act as an antibacterial or anti-mildew deterrent.
Homemade Cleaning Solution Recipes
- Glass Cleaner: ½ white vinegar, ½ water. Use the mix for windows, mirrors or any glass surface and object in your home. You will only need a microfiber cloth to wipe the glass after you spray it with the cleaner. This is a good method to keep the window panes shiny. Although, if your windows are really dirty and you want to do a seasonal cleaning then you will need to use a little bit more efforts. Domestic window cleaning is not quantum physics but there are some specifics that you need to consider like the weather condition, the type of the windows and the equipment you have.
- Stain Remover: 2 parts hydrogen peroxide, 1 part dishwashing liquid. Use the mixture as a pre-treater of almost any stain. Also, to preserve the quality of the mix and because hydrogen peroxide is sensitive to light, store the solution in a dark bottle. After treating the spot with the solution use the disinfectant.
- Disinfectant: ½ rubbing alcohol, ½ water. Use it in the bathroom, on any kitchen surface and utensils. It’s the perfect cleaning solution even for electronic devices.
- Degreaser & Soap Scum Remover: ½ dishwashing liquid, ½ vinegar. This is the end to your bathroom nightmares. - Mold Deterrent: 1 part hydrogen peroxide, 2 parts water. Spray the solution on areas with mold. Wait for an hour and then wash it away with water. This method will put an end to your bathroom, kitchen and washing room mold problems.
- All-Purpose Cleaner: 2 tbsp dishwashing liquid, a bottle of water (1L). Use it for general dusting and cleaning or to polish not so stained countertops.
- Toilet Cleaner: ¼ cup baking soda and 1 cup vinegar. Mix the ingredients, pour the solution into the toilet bowl and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. Then scrub the toilet with a brush and rinse it. The result is shiny and disinfected toilet.
*The baking soda works with every one of these cleaning solutions. However, mix ½ cup white vinegar, ¼ cup baking soda into 2L (½ gallon) of water and you have the perfect water stains remover for windows, mirrors, bathroom and kitchen chrome fixtures and shower stalls.

- Label every bottle and write down what is the purpose of the cleaning solution and its content.
- Do not fill the whole spray bottle with the cleaning solution. These mixtures do not have the same shelf life as the detergents sold in the stores. The homemade products will last for approximately two months. So when you make them write the date on the label and you’ll easily note when it’s time to throw the solution out and prepare a fresh one.
- To make it easier on yourself, use spray bottles in different sizes, shapes and colors. That way you’ll distinguish the different products straightforward.
- Adding 10 drops of essential oil in the cleaning mixtures will scent your home and make it feel more cozy and airy. That way you will avoid the heavy pungent smell of the chemicals in the store-bought detergents that usually require to air the room after using them.
