Keter, under Alejandro Pena, redefines outdoor living with the Signature Collection, offering stylish and multifunctional solutions for homeowners.

According to international market research and advisory firm Technavio, the global residential outdoor storage products market is expected to grow by $327.56 million between 2024 and 2028, with an estimated compound annual growth rate of over 3.82%. One brand has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation and sustainability in the competitive world of outdoor and home storage solutions: Keter, guided by the dynamic leadership of CEO Alejandro Pena. The company’s Signature Collection has redefined outdoor living spaces and set new benchmarks for eco-conscious manufacturing and consumer-oriented design.

Keter, a worldwide leader in resin-based outdoor solutions with a strong focus on eco-friendly practices, has been transforming outdoor spaces for decades. The company’s journey from a small family business to a multinational corporation results from its unwavering dedication to quality and innovation.

Since assuming the role of CEO, Alejandro Pena has been the driving force behind Keter’s transformation. His vision for the company goes beyond mere profit margins; it encompasses a holistic approach to product development that prioritizes sustainability, innovation, and consumer needs. “We continued to work hard to source and utilize recycled content and progressed initiatives that keep us at the leading edge of recycling science and innovation,” Pena stated in the company’s 2023 sustainability report.

Marcin Urbaniak, managing director of Keter East Europe, stated, “In 2023, we significantly ramped up our sustainability practices and communications to help inform and influence consumers to make better choices for the planet. In addition to making all our [point-of-sale] materials from recycled board and labeling all our products with sustainable features, we included sustainability information in all our written and online communications and included a sustainability section in our product catalog.”

After completing the three-year Circle Consortium for Plastic Recycling Technologies, led by the Israel Innovation Authority, Keter has advanced to a new phase in collaboration with Israel’s Technion University. This initiative builds on the research from the consortium, focusing on recycling plastics that are currently non-recyclable, like the large industrial bags used to transport raw materials in factories. These bags, lined with typically nonrecyclable polyethylene, are now being processed using a finely ground method developed by Keter. The company plans to conduct industrial-scale testing of this process in 2024.

In the report, Alejandro Pena explained that the company “will work to realize developments in progress to improve our position in the coming years to meet our ambitious target of 55% recycled content by 2025.

The Rising Popularity of Keter’s Signature Collection

The Signature Collection represents the pinnacle of Keter’s design and manufacturing capabilities. It features sleek lines, modular designs, and versatile pieces that adapt to various outdoor settings. From elegant patio sets to multifunctional storage solutions, each item in the collection is crafted to elevate the outdoor living experience.

“As elevated backyard design is becoming more important to our consumers, we noticed a gap in the market for outdoor storage solutions that complement the beauty of nature rather than clash with it. The Signature Collection now fills that gap with the first best-in-class storage solutions designed to be seen, not hidden away. It redefines functional storage as space-defining furniture pieces, and we’re thrilled to bring it to market,” stated Alejandro Pena.

The line has swiftly gained traction in the outdoor storage market. It addresses a long-standing consumer need for functional storage solutions that complement rather than detract from outdoor aesthetics. The collection’s popularity stems from its unique blend of beauty and practicality, offering a refreshing alternative to traditional outdoor storage options.

Understanding the challenges of outdoor furniture, the company has engineered the Signature Collection to withstand the elements. UV-resistant materials prevent fading, while innovative construction techniques ensure durability without compromising style. This focus on longevity aligns with Pena’s vision of creating products that offer lasting value to consumers.

The Signature Collection’s feature, the DecoCoat technology, has struck a chord with homeowners seeking to elevate their outdoor spaces. By providing a true-to-life wood look and feel without the maintenance drawbacks of natural wood, Keter has effectively bridged the gap between aesthetics and functionality. The range of natural colors, from walnut to ashwood, allows consumers to seamlessly integrate these storage solutions into outdoor design schemes. With so many choices, something for everyone contributes significantly to the collection’s widespread appeal.

Consumers have responded enthusiastically to the Signature Collection’s promise of long-lasting beauty. The weather-resistant properties of the DecoCoat material prevent rotting, rusting, splintering, and peeling. This durability and the collection’s stylish appearance have positioned these products as investment pieces rather than basic storage units.

The Signature Collection’s range of products, from spacious sheds to elegant deck boxes and functional garden beds, has broadened its market appeal. This versatility allows consumers to find solutions that meet their specific storage needs and enhance their outdoor living spaces. The collection’s ability to transform functional storage into space-defining furniture pieces has resonated strongly with consumers looking to maximize their outdoor areas’ beauty and utility.

In an era of increasing environmental consciousness, the Signature Collection’s use of 100% recyclable materials has further boosted its popularity. Its user-friendly design, straightforward assembly instructions, and convenient features, like hydraulic pistons for easy opening and closing, have contributed to customer satisfaction.
