How to Keep Your House Cleaner for Longer

Arya

The cleanliness of your house can make a huge impact on your overall well-being, as well as on the amount of free time you have. Once you’ve done a full day at work, the last thing you want is to come home to a messy house. Coming home to a nice tidy house means that you have one less thing to think about, and you can just relax. Some people will try to do a bit every day, and others do a big clean once a week. Others that simply don’t have the time may get a company in to do the cleaning for them – Städfirma med olika städtjänster.

Whether you’re doing the cleaning yourself, or are getting a company in, you’ll still need to do some cleaning in between each deep clean. Balancing this around work, family, and social life make this difficult. We got some great tips to make this easier.

Step 1. Organise the house

Organise the house
When cleaning, the last thing you need is not knowing where everything goes. Take a day and make sure everything has its place. This way, when it comes to having a quick tidy up, you’ll know where everything is without even having to think of it.

To make things efficient, try to make everything logical, if possible. All the pans and cooking items are next to the oven, the shoe rack by the door, and so on. A good place to start is with your personal items. A good solution is to buy a cubby or a basket for your wallet, keys, phone, and anything else that you have on you all the time. I can’t tell you how much time I’ve wasted looking for these things! If everyone in the house has their own basket, you’ll know that that’s where your personal possessions will be!

2. If you use it, put it away

This is a simple rule that will make the daily clutter far easier to deal with. If you set a rule that you’ll put it away whenever you use it, you’ll avoid ‘stuff’ building up. Dishes are a good example of this. If you can get the family into the habit of putting dishes away after using them, you’ll avoid the dreaded sink buildup.

3. Have a daily routine

daily routine
Cleaning the whole house every single day isn’t needed. But then, certain tasks when done every day for just 5 minutes, will make your life so much easier. This may include doing the dishes, wiping the surfaces down, and sorting your stuff into everyone’s personal cubby. By making sure these small tasks are done every day, you’ll avoid the messy buildup which will take longer and longer to clean.

4. Take care of your mess; don’t ignore it

Something that we all do is to think that we’ll deal with the mess ‘later’. The issue is that often, later never comes! After three or four days of ignoring the mess, it can build up fast. Tackle messes quickly before they get out of control, and you won’t feel overwhelmed by it.
